Nachdem ich aber von verschiedenen Seiten schon geh\u00f6rt habe, dass eine Datensicherung auch an einem externen Ort zu erfolgen habe und ich keine Cloud-L\u00f6sung will, stand diese Anschaffung an. Ausschlaggebend war, dass das in meinem Bekanntenkreis durchaus praktiziert wird &#8211; und ich dachte immer, das macht kein Mensch. <\/p>\n<p>Aber eine externe Ablage der kompakten Festplatte und ein etwa halbj\u00e4hrlicher Austausch oder ein Update scheinen mir ein vertretbarer Aufwand.  Die sch\u00f6nere und billigere WD Festplatte war leider nicht die f\u00fcr den Mac, sondern die f\u00fcr den PC vorformattierte Version. Sie gibts in rot, blau und wei\u00df (eigentlich mein Favorit, aber leider teurer.) Aber das Anpassen am Mac ist kein Problem: Festplatten-Dienstprogramm starten und neu formatieren, das geht blitzschnell. <\/p>\n<p>Etwas l\u00e4nger dauerte das Bef\u00fcllen mit den wichtigsten Daten, vor allem Foto und Video-Daten. Da hatte ich mir doch etwas mehr versprochen, aber vielleicht ist mein 27-Zoll-iMac (Late 2012) auch einfach ein bi\u00dfchen alt daf\u00fcr. Die n\u00e4chste kleine Festplatte wird dann zum Austausch der jetzigen angeschafft. Und in dem Ma\u00df, wie Foto und Video meinen Speicher zunehmend schneller f\u00fcllen, wird wahrscheinlich auch hier noch einmal eine als L\u00fcckenf\u00fcller einspringen, bevor ich mir dann endg\u00fcltig ein NAS-Laufwerk zulegen muss.  <\/p>\n<p>Gemessen an dieser L\u00f6sung ist die H\u00e4ppchen-Variante mit den relativ billigen 1-TB-Festplatten sehr \u00fcberschaubar. Zur Wahl stand \u00fcbrigens auch die sehr schicke G-Drive Mobile mit 1 TB, die aber nur nicht immer \u00fcberall (und zu sehr unterschiedlichen Preisen) zu bekommen ist. Die WD-Platte bereitet mir da relativ wenig Kopfzerbrechen: Die gibts fast \u00fcberall zu einem g\u00fcnstigen, Preis, man kann also leicht nachkaufen und hat nachher nicht Platten von drei verschiedenen Herstellern. Au\u00dferdem haben mich meine bisherigen WD-Festplatte noch nie im Stich gelassen,lediglich an einer Uralt-Platte hat nach l\u00e4ngerem Nicht-Gebrauch mal das Netzteil nicht mehr funktioniert.   <\/p>\n<p>Ansonsten gibts \u00fcber die Festplatte nicht allzu viel zu berichten: Sie ist leise, wie meine anderen WD-Festplatten auch, ein blaues Lichtchen zeigt an, dass sie noch rackert (aber das h\u00f6rt man auch). <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.joachimott.de\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/151130_wd2_kompakt.jpg\" alt=\"151130_wd2_kompakt\" width=\"620\" height=\"415\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6564\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.joachimott.de\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/151130_wd3_kompakt.jpg\" alt=\"151130_wd3_kompakt\" width=\"620\" height=\"414\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-6565\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My Passport Ultra portable externe Festplatte 1TB (6,4 cm (2,5 Zoll), 5400rpm, 8MB Cache, SATA, USB 3.0) Schwarz Festplatten und kein Ende&#8230; Eine transportable Festplatte stand bei mir bis vor kurzem nicht auf der Liste, zumindest solange ich noch nicht nennenswert mit einem Notebook arbeite.
