Scheint auf den ersten Blick nicht so recht in die Vor-Weihnachtszeit zu passen: „A long way down“ von Nick Hornby<\/a>\"\" ist die Geschichte von 4 Menschen, die sich in der Silvesternacht auf dem Dach eines Hochhauses treffen, weil sie von dort in die Tiefe springen wollten. <\/p>\n

So ein Zusammentreffen nimmt einem nat\u00fcrlich die laune f\u00fcr ein solches Vorhaben. Also verschieben die vier das zun\u00e4chst auf den Valentinstag, dort wollen sie sich hier wieder treffen und springen – oder eben nicht. Erz\u00e4hlt wird die Geschichte abwechselnd aus der Perspektive der vier. Von Hornby in seiner n\u00fcchternen Art, in der kurzzeitig eben auch der trockene britische Humor durchscheint (obwohl das Buch nicht wirklich und in erster Linie lustig ist). <\/p>\n

Nat\u00fcrlich wei\u00df man was kommt, und wie es kommt. Von daher erscheint einem manches sicher von vorneherein konstruiert. Aber in den Geschichten steckt viel Wahres, sie zeichnen ein eindrucksvolles Charakterbild der Menschen in dieser Zufallsgemeinschaft. Und jeder, der manchmal an sich oder anderen zweifelt (und wer tut das nicht) kann auch einen Gewinn aus diesen Beschreibungen ziehen und wird die Entwicklung mit Spannung verfolgen. Anders gesagt: Lesenswerter und humorvoller kann eine Geschichte zu diesem Thema nicht sein. Und wer sich drauf einl\u00e4sst, wird belohnt. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
